What really determines the bare root season?

Throughout the horticultural and landscaping industry, we’re always referring to the “bare root season” – that hive of activity in growing and planting that starts in late Autumn and finishes in the Spring – anywhere between November to late April. But what really is the “bare root season”?

Keep on giving: The more you plant, the more we donate

For every bare root plant* you’ve bought or are going to buy this season, we’ll be giving one penny to help support and educate UK children as they learn to understand and appreciate their UK countryside, farming and the importance of growing in their lives.

Meet the team: Reggie and Rita Robin

Featuring in our Meet the Team blog are our resident robin redbreasts, Reggie and Rita.  Reggie has been visiting our dispatch shed for the last two seasons but this year, he also brought along his new-found partner, Rita. Let’s find out what the pair have been up to this Winter!

Our latest charity update | Working together with FACE and UK’s future farmers

Since the end of last year, pennies have started to amass in donations from our online bare root plant sales.  We expect to see these soar over the next few months as we dispatch tens of thousands of trees and hedging plants before the bare root season finishes as we approach April.

The perfect plants for coastal areas

Your trees and hedging plants survive a myriad of hardships thrown at them by our UK weather conditions.  But, when planting in coastal areas, you have a whole host of other considerations to expect, too.  Don’t be put off though, we’ve got the perfect plants to help!
